Image Piñero, Rafael He studied chemical engineering at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and a course in film directing at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). He participated with his feature film El desconocido (2008) at the 6th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) and the 6th Acapulco International Film Festival (FICA), among others. The film won the Silver REMI award for Best Suspense at the 42nd WorldFest-Houston International Film & Video Festival and the Golden Ace Award at the 2nd Las Vegas Film Festival (LVFF).
