Image Hernández, Roberto He studied law at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and received a master’s degree in comparative law at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He is a Ph.D candidate in public policy at the University of California, Berkeley. He participated in the 7th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) with his first feature length documentary Presunto culpable (2009), co-directed with Geoffrey Smith, which won the Best Feature Length Documentary. The film was presented at numerous festivals around the world and won more than 10 national and international awards, including the Audience Award at the 16th Los Angeles Film Festival (LA Film Fest); the Emmy award for Outstanding Investigative Journalism at the 32nd News & Documentary Emmy Awards, New York; Best Picture at the 8th Canacine Awards Ceremony, Mexico; and Best Documentary at the 25th Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG).
