He received a master’s degree in communication and culture from the Jesuit University of Guadalajara (ITESO, in Spanish). He participated in more the 10 film screenings and festivals around the world with his animated short film El retrato de Sam Brennan (2009), including the 7th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM); the Short Film Corner at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival, France; the Las Americas International Film Festival, Austin, Texas; the 1st Mexican Film Festival in Hong Kong, China; and the 14th International Film Festival for Children (…and not so children), “La Matatena,” Mexico City. The film won a Special Mention at the 36th International Film Festival of Huesca, Spain, and the award for Best Original Soundtrack at the 11th Silver Screen Festival, Mexico.
