She studied at the CCC film school in Mexico City. She participated in the 1st Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) with her feature-length documentary Recuerdos (2003), which was presented in more than 20 film showings and festivals around the world including the 16th Toulouse Latin American Film Festival; the 19th Mar del Plata International Film Festival in Argentina; the 4th Taiwán International Documentary Festival (TIDF); and the 20th Chicago Latino Film Festival. She won the Special Jury Award for this film at the 7th Festival of Málaga; a Special Mention for the José Rovirosa Award of the UNAM Film Archives; the Special Jury Award at the 6th Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF); and the Mayahuel, FIPRESCI and OCIC (International Catholic Organization for Cinema) awards for Best Film at the 18th Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG).
