Image Défossé, Nicolás He took preparatory classes for the Normal Superior School (ENS, in French) in París at the Liceo Lakanal, Sceaux, Île de France, and received a master’s degree in philosophy from the Universidad Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, where he took classes in film and audiovisual studies. His work has participated in more than 40 festivals around the world, including the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). At the 5th FICM, he participated with his short documentary El camino mayo con la otra campaña (2007) and in the 6th FICM with Yerbabuena (2007), which received two honorable mentions: at the 2nd International Film Festival on Human Rights in Mexico (DHFEST) and the 5th Independent Hispanic American Film and Video Festival, “All Voices Against the Silence,” in Mexico City. His first feature-length documentary, ¡Viva México! (2009), won the Salvador Allende Award at the 7th Latino Film Festival of Brussels (LAFF), the Audience Award at the 27th Latin American Film Festival, Bourdeaux, and an Honorable Mention at the 13th edition of the José Rovirosa Award of the UNAM Film Archives, among other awards.
