Escamilla del Arenal, Yoame

She studied cinematography at the CCC film school and a course in photography at the Active Photography School in Mexico City. She has received two grants from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA), Mexico: in 2003 for post-production for her short fiction film Post mortem (2005), which was nominated for an Ariel for Best Short Fiction Film at the 48th Ariel Awards, Mexico; and in 2007 the Young Creators Grant for screenwriting for Relatos de Fuga, selected for the 14th Colón Workshop of Analysis of Film Projects by the Theory and Practice of the Arts Foundation (TYPA), Argentina. She participated in the 6th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) with her short fiction film La ropa sucia (2007). Her short film Cuando despierte (2012) was selected in the 9th National Competition for Short Film Projects launched by the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE).
