He received a master’s degree in applied arts from the University of California San Diego (UCSD), United States. He has participated in two editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). In the 4th FICM, he competed with his feature-length documentary, Maquilápolis (2006), co-directed with Victoria Funari, which also participated in the 27th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAFF), California, and the 7th Filmmor Women’s Film Festival on Wheels, Istanbul, Turkey, among others. He won the Audience Award at the 14th Barcelona International Women’s Film Festival, Spain; the Achievement Award at the 7th Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), New York; and an Honorable Mention at the 3rd Green Film Festival in Seoul (GFFIS), Korea, among others. He participated in the 7th FICM with his short fiction film Nuevo Dragon City (2008).
