Image Leyva; Ileana She studied film, with a specialty in film direction, at the CUEC-UNAM film school. She received a master’s degree in photography and video at the National School of Decorative Arts in París as part of a grant from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA, in Spanish) of Mexico and a master’s at the Sorbonne – París 1 in screenwriting, directing and production. She received the Best Short Film in Video award at the 2nd Short Shorts Film Festival Mexico (SSFFM) for De causas y azares (2006). Her short film Crónica de un instante (2009) was part selected at the 7th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), the 5th São Paulo Latin American Film Festival, the 22nd Istanbul International Film Festival, and the 32nd International Festival of New Latin American Film in Havana, among others. Her documentary short film Dans les couloirs (2015) was part of the Official Selection of the 13th FICM. She is currently in production of two film projects, one of them is the documentary feature film Aché!, which received a grant from the Ibermedia Desarrollo program and participated at the competition of the IMCINE award of the 8th International Documentary Film Festival of Mexico City (DocsDF).
