Pérez Torres, Arturo

He studied cinematography at the University of San Francisco (USF) and received a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Amsterdam (UvA in Dutch). His work has been presented in more than 10 film showings and festivals around the world and has participated in two editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). His feature-length documentary Wetback – The Undocumented Documentary (2005) won, among other awards, Best Documentary at the 15th Cinequest Film Festival (CQ), San Jose, California; Best Story at the 1st Punto de Vista International Documentary Film Festival of Navarra, in Pamplona; and the Audience Top 10 Favorites at the 12th Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival, Toronto. He participated in the 5th FICM with his feature-length documentary Súper amigos (2007), which won the Best Foreign Film award at the 7th Silver Lake Film Festival, Los Angeles, and a Jury Mention at the 22nd Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG, in Spanish), among others. He participated  in the 8th FICM with his documentary Las águilas humanas (2010).
