Serna Salazar, Patricio

He studied communication at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), Mexico. He received master’s degrees in documentary filmmaking and feature production for cinema and television at the Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona; a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) at New York University (NYU); and a European Master’s in audiovisual management at the Media Business School (MBS), Spain. He participated in four editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM): at the 1st FICM with Tromba D’Oro (2003), winner of the Best Latin American Short Film at the 15th São Paulo International Short Film Festival; at the 2nd FICM with Mating Call, which won the Special Jury Award at the 1st Novara International Film Festival, Italy; at the 5th FICM with El toro (2007), a short film that won the 2nd Short Film Screenplay Contest SOGEM-CONARTE; and the 8th FICM with 12 onzas (2010).
