Rivera, Christian

He studied cinematography at the CCC film school in Mexico City, and participated in an exchange program at the Film and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (ESCAC) in Barcelona.  He was part of the 1st Guadalajara Talents in 2009. He is currently studying a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) at Concordia University in Montreal. He participated in the 8th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) with his short animated film Desierto (2010), which won the Best Animated Short Film award at the 3rd Rodando Film Festival San Luis Potosí (RFF SLP). He has received several awards for his work as photography director and visual effects supervisor; including Best Photography at the 3rd Kinoki International College Film Festival, Mexico City, for Es muy fácil (2007) by Pablo Figueroa; Best Director of Photography award at the 6th Montevideo Fantastic Film Festival, Uruguay, for La pantera negra (2010) by Iyari Wertta; and the Ariel for Best Visual Effects at the 52nd Ariel Awards Ceremony, Mexico, for Conozca la cabeza de Juan Pérez (2008) by Emilio Portes.
