Image Figueroa García, David He studied classical literature at New York University (NYU) and took a course in screenwriting at the Film and Television Academy of Berlin (DFFB in German). He received a master’s degree in film directing from Columbia University, New York. He participated in the 10th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) with his short fiction film Ratitas (2012), which won the Best Short Film Award at the 17th Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF), Best Mexican Short Film at the 9th Monterrey International Film Festival (FICMonterrey, in Spanish), and Best Actor for Kristyan Ferrer at the 8th Short Shorts Film Festival Mexico (SSFFM). His short fiction film Perfidia (2013) was part of the Official Selection of the 12th FICM and has won several awards: the East Region in the Latino section of the 19th DGA Student Film Awards, Los Angeles, and Best Short Film at the 17th Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF). This film has also participated in the 61st San Sebastián International Film Festival, Spain; the 7th Kustendorf International Film and Music Festival, Serbia; and the 25th New Orleans Film Festival (NOFF), Louisiana, among others.
