Image García, Carlos Gerardo He studied cinematography at the International School of Film and Television (EICTV, in Spanish) of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. He received an Artistic Production Grant in 2010 from the Cultural Institute of León (ICL), Mexico, and a Creation and Artistic Development Grant in 2012 from the Guanajuato State Cultural Institute. He produced the short film Latitudes (2008) by Manuel Ramírez Muñoz which participated in the 10th Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) and the 5th Cimameriche Film Festival: Cinematografico della Migrazione e del Gusto, in Chiavari, Italy, among other festivals. He won first place at the National Short Film Competition “Centenario” 2009, Guanajuato, for his short fiction film La otra ruta (2009). His short film Ometepe (2012) was presented at the 10th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) and the 11th Festival Les Toiles de Mer, France, among other festivals. He was part of the official selection of the 19th Festival Cinéma des Peuples, Morocco, with his short film La marée (2013); of the 32nd Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Quebequois, Quebec, with La plaque (2013); and of the 16th GIFF with his short film Catalina (2013).
