Erenberg; Shula

She studied visual arts at the Manuel Belgrano School of Fine Arts and at the National School of Ceramics Nº1, Argentina, and started a master’s degree in communication at UNAM’s National School of Visual Arts (ENAP, in Spanish), Mexico. She received a grant on two occasions from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) for her audiovisual project Entre imágenes en el periodo 1987-1988 and for the interactive CD Documentos caso Cavallo in 2005. She made animations for different media and spots for various national and international television channels. She was a founding teacher of the International School of Film and Television (EICTV, in Spanish) of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, a jury member at several documentary film festivals, and a member of the consulting commissions of the Fund for of Quality Film Production (FOPROCINE). Her first documentary feature film Cavallo entre rejas (2006), codirected with Laura Imperiale and María Inés Roqué, won many awards, including Best Video at the 8th Festival Latinoamericano de Video y Artes Audiovisuales Rosario, Argentina, and an Honorable Mention at the 5th Festival Internacional del Documental Tres Continentes, Argentina, among others. With the documentary Bajo el mismo sol (2009) she won the Jury Award for Best Documentary at the 13th Toronto Hispano-American Film Festival (THAFF) and an Honorable Mention at the 6th Latin American Symposium for Independent Films and Documentary Video: Contra el Silencio Todas las Voces, Mexico. With this documentary she participated in more than 15 festivals like the 6th International Documentary Film Festival of Mexico City DocsDF; the 31st International Festival of New Latin American in Film in Havana; the 22nd Festival Internacional de Cine en Centroamérica Ícaro, Guatemala; the 3rd International Human Rights Film Festival, Mexico; and the 6th Morelia International Film Festival, among others. Her documentary Rosario (2013) won multiple awards including the Audience Award for Best Mexican Feature Documentary at the 9th Monterrey International Film Festival (FIC Monterrey, in Spanish); an Honorable Mention for the José Rovirosa Award 2013 from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); the Luciana Cabarga Award for Best Documentary by a Woman at the 17th Iberoamerican Documentary Film Festival of Memory (FMDI, in spanish), Mexico; and Best Feature Film at the 9th International Short Film Festival FENACO, Peru, among others. With Rosario she participated in more than 20 festivals around the world, including the Human Rights Film Festival of Geneva (FIFDH), Switzerland; the 8th DocsDF; the 17th Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF); the 22nd Festival de Biarritz Amérique Latine; and the 11th FICM, among others. She is currently collaborating in different areas of documentary production for the New Media Advocacy Project.
