Willem Dafoe will be a Guest of Honor at the 14th FICM

The extraordinary actor Willem Dafoe will be a Guest of Honor of the fourteenth edition of FICM. Dafoe is one of the most versatile actors in filmmaking and has over four decades of experience and has made more than a hundred films throughout his career. He has worked with important directors such as Paul Schrader, Lars von Trier, Oliver Stone, Werner Herzog, Abel Ferrara, Wes Anderson, Spike Lee, and Martin Scorsese.

He studied acting at the University of Wisconsin to then join the experimental theater company The Wooster Group. It was there that he was discovered by Monty Montgomery and Kathryn Bigelow. He was launched into international stardom on the role of Eric Masters, a psychotic counterfeiter involved in money laundering on William Friedkin's classic To Live and Die in L.A. (1985). A year later, his performance in Platoon (1986), by Oliver Stone, cemented him as one of the most outstanding actors in moviemaking.

During his visit to Morelia, the acclaimed actor will present a small cycle of some of his most representative films: Platoon (1986), by Oliver Stone; The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), by Martin Scorsese; Light Sleeper (1992) by Paul Schrader; Antichrist (2009), by Lars von Trier; Pasolini (2014), by Abel Ferrara, and Father (2016), by Giada Colagrande.
