As is now a tradition, the unveiling of a plaque celebrating the winners of the Official Selection of last year's festival took place at the 22nd Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).

The event was attended by Alejandro Ramírez, president of FICM; Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Batel, vice president; and Daniela Michel, founder and general director. They were joined by members of the Mexican Feature Film Jury, including actress Liv Tyler and directors Alexander Payne and Ira Sachs. Also in attendance was Mexican filmmaker Rodrigo Prieto, who chaired the Mexican Feature Film Jury at the 21st FICM, and this year presents his directorial debut, Pedro Páramo.

“Something that's very beautiful about this festival is all of you; the people who attend this festival are film fans. For me, that's really nice. People here are truly excited to see the films,” Rodrigo Prieto said at the event.

The audience cheered the director and cinematographer, who will premiere his debut feature film, Pedro Páramo (2024), at a Grand Gala during the 22nd FICM. Liv Tyler also took the time to sign autographs for Mexican fans.
