Open call for the Morelia / IMCINE – Locarno Industry Academy International 2018 workshop

The Morelia / IMCINE - Locarno Industry Academy International workshop is an initiative that the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) organizes since 2015 in collaboration with the Locarno Festival and the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE). Its objective is to support young professionals to understand the challenges of the independent film industry in Latin America and the world.

After its success in its past four editions, a four-day workshop for eight participants from Mexico and abroad will be held within the 16th edition of the FICM.

The Morelia / IMCINE - Locarno Industry Academy International is the result of the long-standing relationship between the Locarno Festival and its international partners. The project demonstrates the permanent dedication to involve a new generation of key professionals in the independent film industry, help them gain a greater understanding of the industry's challenges and provide them with the opportunity to expand their network of contacts, as well as build bridges through different markets. This workshop is also possible thanks to the support of the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE), which is always mindful to the professionalization of the film industry in our country.

The call will be open from July 27 to August 31, 2018 for young people interested in developing professionally in areas of sales, marketing, distribution, exhibition and film programming who are preferably already working in established companies.

The selection of participants will be made public on September 28, 2018.
