Ricardo de Montreuil's MISTURA Received a Standing Ovation at the 22nd FICM

Mistura was screened for the first time in Latin America at the 22nd Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). The screening was presented by Daniela Michel, founder and general director of the festival, and was attended by director Ricardo de Montreuil, the film's star Barbara Mori, and producer Iván Orlic.

Barbara Mori took the opportunity to thank the festival, explaining that returning to Morelia feels like coming home. “This film invites us to celebrate life, and diversity, and let go of limiting beliefs. It also reminds us that failure is not the end, but the opportunity to start again from an authentic place, returning to our childhood and our roots,” she added.

This Peruvian production tells the life story of Norma (Bárbara Mori), whose life crumbles after her husband's betrayal when she is ostracized from high society. Connecting with marginalized communities, she embarks on a transformative journey, challenging the norms with a daring culinary venture that redefines her existence.

Mistura is the second feature film in which Ricardo de Montreuil collaborates with Bárbara Mori. The two released La mujer de mi hermano in 2005 and, sharing her experience filming again with the director, said: “One of the nicest things about working again with a friend whom I admire is to see each other on the set with this perspective on life, with these stories and experiences."

At the end of the screening, an enthusiastic audience gave the film a standing ovation. The director and his team took the floor to thank them and answer their questions.
