Outdoor screening of Ayotzinapa, el Paso de la Tortuga in the 16th FICM

Ayotzinapa, el Paso de la Tortuga (2017) was screened outdoors in the Plaza Benito Juárez of the Historic Center of Morelia. The documentary co-produced by Guillermo del Toro, Bertha Navarro, and TV UNAM, under the direction of Enrique García Meza, formed part of Impulso Morelia 3 in 2017 and narrates the disappearance of the 43 students of the Escuela Normal Rural Raúl Isidro Burgos on September 26 of 2014.

The short film ¡Allá vienen! (2018) by the director, Ezequiel Reyes was screened prior to the documentary. It is an experimental film about the disappeared in Mexico in recent years, built from homemade footage of unknown Mexican families, and the immense and moving poem Los Muertos, by the Mexican poet María Rivera. The director was also present during the screening.
