He is also the regular screenwriter for French filmmaker Cédric Klapisch, with whom he collaborated in Le Péril jeune, Quizás, Ni a favor ni en contra, and more recently in El viñedo que nos une, Alguien en algún lugar and En movimiento. These films were introduced to us in Mexico through the French Film Tour. Santiago Amigorena is also a well-known writer. His novel El gueto interior, published by Random House in 2019 has been recognized and awarded multiple prizes. Le Premier Exil received the prestigious Prix Médicis in 2021. As part of the activities to contribute to the training and professional updating of Mexican filmmakers, the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) launched the Screenwriting Advisory Program "Afinar el guion", in partnership with the French Embassy in Mexico.Since its beginning, the FICM has maintained a significant bond with France. Whether through its association with the Cannes Critics' Week or through the numerous French guests present in Morelia each year, including Bertrand Tavernier, Bruno Dumont, Julie Bertucelli, Laurent Cantet, Michel Gondry, Olivier Assayas, and Nicolas Philibert, among many others.
