Mexican works at Films in Progress

Films in Progress is a joint initiative by the San Sebastián International Film Festival and the Rencontres Cinémas d'Amérique Latine in Toulouse. The project, which will be held on September 25 and 26, is a program to aid Latin American cinema. Its goal is to help works in the post-production stage by presenting them to a group of professionals who will assist in their completion. The Instituto Cervantes world network will distribute all of the films in the project internationally. In addition, the films will compete for the following prizes:

Norteado-Films in Progress Award: In appreciation for the awards the film Norteado received in 2008, which helped in its completion and distribution, the Mexican production companies Film Tank and Tiburón Producciones, CONACULTA through IMCINE, and the companies McCormick de México and IDN, will present a $5,000 dollar prize to one of the six participating films.

Films In Progress Industry Award: This prize will assume the post-production of a film until obtaining a 35mm copy, with English subtitles, and its distribution in Spain. The companies sponsoring this award include Daniel Goldstein S. L., Deluxe Spain, Dolby Iberia, Imasblue, Kodak (División de Cine Profesional), Laserfilm Cine y Video, Nephilim Producciones, No Problem Sonido and Vértigo Films.
