PARA VIVIR: EL IMPLACABLE TIEMPO DE PABLO MILANÉS at the 23rd FICM

Cuban filmmaker Fabien Pisani presented his documentary Para vivir: el implacable tiempo de Pablo Milanés during the 23rd edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).

FICM Vice President Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Batel said he was moved by the film because he is a fan of Pablo Milanés.

“It's a film seen from an intimate perspective, from a place of affection. Fabien is Pablo's son, but it's also made with the objectivity of a filmmaker; it's not just a son's perspective,” said Cárdenas Batel.

Para vivir: el implacable tiempo de Pablo Milanés addresses a little-known aspect of the singer: the story of how he became a symbol for an entire generation in Cuba and Latin America.

Through an intimate dialogue with his ailing father, a son weaves a portrait of the man, the artist, and the complex era that he captured and enriched with his songs.

“I am very happy to be in Mexico, that this film is Mexican, that it found its home here,” said director Fabien Pisani, thanking the festival for inviting him to present it in Morelia.
