The Spanish actress was accompanied by the vice president of the festival, Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Batel. "We want you to have a permanent place in this festival that is a roller coaster of feelings [...]" This armchair will live in room 4 of the Cinépolis with the armchairs of so many other friends of the festival," said Cárdenas Batel. "It makes you empathize with the problems of the world," said the actress regarding the film. At the time of the armchair’s unveiling, Maribel could barely contain her joy and exclaimed "What a dream!" Then, she happily sat on her armchair to pose for the cameras. Prior to the screening of Blancanieves (2012), by Pablo Berger, Verdú stated that "cinema is used to fly, create fantasies and illusions." She recalled what it was like to work with Berger, a director she holds very dear. “You have no idea what it was like to play this terrible baddie. I get to do harm in fiction and not in reality,” she concluded. The film is a Spanish version of the popular Grimm brothers' tale, set in Spain during the 1920s. Snow White is Carmen, a beautiful young woman who lived a tormented childhood with her ruthless stepmother, Encarna (Verdú). Fleeing her past, Carmen embarks on an exciting journey accompanied by her new friends: a company of bullfighter dwarves.
