La negrada, by Jorge Pérez Solano, will participate in Ventana Sur

La negrada, by Jorge Pérez Solano was selected to participate in the Copia 0 section of Ventana Sur, a fair that, since 2009, brings together in Argentina distribution companies from all over the world to acquire Latin American productions. Ventana Sur will be held from November 27 to December 1, 2017.

Jorge Pérez Solano received the Next Award from the Tribeca Film Institute (sponsored by Canacine) and the Impulso Morelia Postproduction Award during the 15th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).

La negrada is the first Mexican fiction film about the populations of African origin in the Oaxacan coast, where the “queridato”, relationships in which both commit adultery, is socially accepted. The story follows Juana and Magdalena, who share their lives with Neri although they know that it hurts them. Juana’s death will give Magdalena the clarity to resume her life without him.

Pérez Solano, director of La tirisia, participated in the 2008 FICM with the feature film Spiral.
