The Greatest House in the World at the 13th FICM

As part of the Mexican Feature Film Section in competition of the 13th FICM, the film La casa más grande del mundo / The Greatest House in the World (2015) by directors Lucía Carreras and Ana V. Bojórquez was presented.

A Guatemalan-Mexican co-production, The Greatest House in the World tells the story of Rocío, a Mam Maya girl who lives in the mountains of the Guatemalan altiplano. When her pregnant mother begins having premature contractions, Rocío must take charge of their sheep herd for the first time and lead them across the mountainous pastures. The girl is very young for such a task, and when she goes in search of a missing sheep, the others escape. Rocío must find a way to overcome this challenge and face her worst fears.

The documentary is the first feature film of Guatemalan director Ana V. Bojórquez and the second by Mexican director Lucía Carreras.
