Cultural worker, passionate artist, and management consultant, Justine Valtier moved to Saguenay in 2016 and is a constant presence in the local cultural and artistic scene. Originally from France, she has an MA in art from the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi (QC), as well as a Diplôme National Supérieur in visual expression from the ESAM in France. Starting in 2018, she served for three years as executive director of the art center Le Lobe. In parallel, she spent four years lecturing in the arts module at QC. As an assistant to various university chairs in France and the US, Valtier has developed a unique and committed perspective on art history and the photographic image. Having worked as a managing consultant for organizations and video production companies, she is also involved with the Regroupement des Centres d’Artistes Autogérés du Québec (RCAAQ), where she serves as co-president of the board of directors.
