Rissient was one of the founders of the circle of cinephiles from the Mac Mahon cinema in Paris and a special guest during the 9th edition of FICM; he sadly passed away in 2018.

With great joy and surprise, the French director and screenwriter thanked the festival and said, "I'm very happy, it's the second time I've been here at the festival [...] I hope I can return with another film soon."

After the unveiling of the armchair, the documentary feature film Jane Campion: The Cinema Woman was screened as part of the 20FICM International Premieres program.

“This film talks about what directing is and what our job is as filmmakers. So, I think it's an excellent lesson on how movies are made,” shared Julie Bertucceli, addressing the young filmmakers in the room.

Jane Campion: The Cinema Woman is a documentary based on the life of New Zealand-born screenwriter and film producer Jane Campion. The first woman to win the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, in 1986.

"This is truly surreal," Bertuccelli said as she sat on the armchair.
