Barry Jenkins “I had never presented this film in a cinema. I showed it once in a museum in Los Angeles and once in a museum in New York, so I don't know how to introduce it," Barry Jenkins told the audience. Due to the erasure and injustice, Black people have experienced historically, to this day, there is very little record, information, and photographic content. "This work is a way for me to pay respect to my ancestors and my own heritage," Jenkins said before the screening began.
