FICM will close its 22nd edition with Apple TV+’s DISCLAIMER, by Alfonso Cuarón

The 22nd Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) will close with the screening of Apple’s highly anticipated limited event Disclaimer, from the extraordinary, Academy Award-winning Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón.

Based on the book of the same name by Renée Knight, and written and directed by five-time Oscar® winner Alfonso Cuarón, Disclaimer is a gripping psychological thriller starring Academy Award winners Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline.

Acclaimed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) built her reputation revealing the misdeeds and transgressions of others. When she receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets. As Catherine races to uncover the writer’s true identity, she is forced to confront her past before it destroys her life and her relationships with her husband Robert (Sacha Baron Cohen) and their son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee).

Mexican Emmanuel Lubezki, three-time Academy Award winner, participates in Disclaimer as Executive Producer and Cinematographer.

Disclaimer will make its global debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, October 11, 2024 with its first two episodes. The acclaimed, upcoming limited series recently held its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival where it was met with a standing ovation.

The director will be present at the closing screening of the 22nd edition of FICM.
