Rafael Aviña interviews Adolfo Martínez Solares for the 18th edition of FICM

Film critic Rafael Aviña interviewed Adolfo Martínez Solares, son of director Gilberto Martínez Solares, as part of the 18th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). Martínez Solares shared anecdotes about the career of this prolific Mexican director, who from 1938 to 1979 directed more than 150 films – many of which were big box office successes.

This interview is part of the activities around the program dedicated to Gilberto Martínez Solares, which is possible thanks to the invaluable support received from Fundación Televisa and Cineteca Nacional.

The program will include Santo y Blue Demon contra los monstrous (1970) and a copy of Calabacitas tiernas (1949) restored by Fundación Televisa, in collaboration with the Cineteca Nacional. You can enjoy both of them for free for 24 hours at Cinépolis KLIC starting October 29.

In addition, a photographic exhibition dedicated to Gilberto Martínez Solares will be presented in the Andador Hidalgo in the Plaza Benito Juárez, in Morelia.
