The film was presented by Daniela Michel, founder and general director of the festival, and Karel Och, artistic director of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Karel Och During her speech, Michel emphasized her closeness to Czech cinema and stressed the importance of its presence at the festival: “We wanted to have a Czech film program to showcase the current works of cinematography - which has been very important”.In the film, Libuše Jarcovjáková narrates her life through photographs and excerpts from her diary. After a period of repression, she decides to explore her sexuality and seeks spaces of freedom, arriving on an island where a crime takes place. The police then try to solve the crime using her photographs.Karel Och said that this edition is a great opportunity to start this series of presentations, as there is currently a great diversity of material made by people of different profiles. “It is one of the most original documentaries made in our country, it is beautiful and quite intriguing; you will see Czechoslovakia and other countries over the last 50 years,” he concluded.
