Originally from Jiutepec, Morelos, Luis Felipe Henrández Alanís is a self-taught animator who has made several short films and videos, all using stop-motion. His independent productions have participated in numerous festivals, including the Morelia International Film Festival, where he has presented five works: Sphere (2005), winner of the award for Best Short Animation; Coma (2006); Azul hiel lúgubre néctar (2007); Martyris (2010), and Mateo and Cinema (2015). In Mateo and Cinema, a young boy receives help from his family to develop his artistic potential. Mateo learns how to make animated cinema using his own drawings. See below for the full short film.
