Call for entries: Los Angeles Film Festival 2013

The Los Angeles Film Festival 2013 is now accepting submissions of feature films, documentaries and short films (completed after January 1, 2012) to the sections in competition. The films selected for the festival will be eligible to compete for the Film Independent Spirit Awards, the Cinema Eye Honors for documentary films, as well as the Academy Awards in the Narrative and Animated Short Film category.

 

Application dates are:

 

 

  • "Early Bird" deadline: December 7, 2012
  • Official deadline: January 11, 2013
  • Late deadline for short films and music videos: February 8, 2013
  • Late deadline for feature-length narrative and documentary films: February 15, 2013

Last year, the Los Angeles Film Festival received more than 4,700 entries, approximately 100 of which were chosen for the competition. The Mexican documentary Drought (Cuates de Australia) by Everardo González (Official Selection FICM 2012) was named Best Documentary 2012 and received 15,000 dollars from Film Independent, organizers of the Los Angeles Film Festival.
