Cochochi reopens in Mexico City´s cinemas

The movie was filmed by a crew of 12 people during a six weeks period in a farm called Cochochi, starring locals (non actors) from the town of San Ignacio, in Chihuahua. It tells the story of a Raramuri community who struggles to keep their language, culture, believes and traditions alive. Brothers Evaristo and Luis Antonio, two children who belong to this community, are told that one of their relatives is very sick and needs some medicines. The kids will begin a journey riding his grandfather´s horse to take the medicines to the next town. The horse is an extremely valuable possession and in a momentary distraction it manages to escape. The boys try, by all means, to find him.

Cochochiis produced by Canana Films, and has received multiple awards like the Discovery Award of Toronto Film Festival, FIPRESCI of Festival de Gijon, Gran Premio del Jurado of the Miami Film Festival, Gran Prix FIPRESCI award from the Toulouse Festival and the award for Best Movie in the Festival de Gramado.
