“It is always a pleasure to present a film for the first time in another country and especially here in Mexico, a country of great cinema. Where two days ago I saw so many people go to movie theaters to see these films. In France, everyone is afraid that people no longer want to go to the cinema and only want to watch movies at home. It's a struggle because watching movies together in a movie theater is so much better," Claire Denis shared.

The award was presented during the 20th edition of FICM, before the screening of Avec amour et acharnement (2022), a romantic drama starring Juliette Binoche —Special Guest during the 12th FICM— and Vincent Lindon. In it, Sara and Jean have a 10-year relationship, but the arrival of François, Sara's old flame and Jean's friend, makes things spiral out of control.
