Nespresso Talents Mentorship 2018 at the 16th FICM

As part of the alliance that the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) maintains with Nespresso, a mentorship was held at the Teatro José Rubén Romero in the company of the jury of the third edition of Nespresso Talents made up of director Ximena Urrutia, the filmmaker Alfredo Loaeza, the writer David Barraza, the director Jorge Michel Grau and the founder and general director of the FICM, Daniela Michel. As well as the mentors of this edition, the director Lucía Gajá and actor Juan Manuel Bernal.

The film Antes del Olvido, by director Iria Gómez Concheiro, offered a press screening on Tuesday morning in Room 1 of Cinépolis Centro, within the 16th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). The screening was attended by the director, the producer Rodrigo Ríos Legaspi and the actors Mercedes Hernández and Sebastián Fonseca.

On the fourth day of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) a special screening of the film Cold Water (1994), was held, which was attended by French director and screenwriter Olivier Assayas, who was introduced by Daniela Michel, director and founder of the festival.

Outdoor screening of Ayotzinapa, el Paso de la Tortuga in the 16th FICM

Ayotzinapa, el Paso de la Tortuga (2017) was screened outdoors in the Plaza Benito Juárez of the Historic Center of Morelia. The documentary co-produced by Guillermo del Toro, Bertha Navarro and TV UNAM, under the direction of Enrique García Meza formed part of Impulso Morelia 3 in 2017 and narrates the disappearance of the 43 students of the Escuela Normal Rural Raúl Isidro Burgos on September 26 of 2014.

Shéhérazade, de Jean-Bernard Marlin, fue presentada en el 16º FICM

With the presence of director Jean-Bernard MarlinShéhérazade, as presented, a film that won the Jean Vigo Award and was awarded three prizes at the Angoulême Festival, including Best Film. He was accompanied by Jacques Kermabon, editor-in-chief of Brief and current member of the jury of the Mexican Short Film of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM); and Charles Tesson, artistic director of the Critics’ Week.
