The lineup of films can also be enjoyed in digital format on Mubi, where it will be available for four weeks. Sonidero This section of the Documentary Tour focuses on music as well as the convergence of sound and film language. For the 2023 edition, five titles will be exhibited, including Un lugar llamado música (2021) by director Enrique M. Rizo, about the unexpected connection that became friendship between Wixárika musician Daniel Medina and New York composer Philip Glass. In addition to Nam June Paik: Moon is the Oldest TV, by Amanda Kim, which follows the South Korean artist who gives the documentary its name, known for being the pioneer of video art. And Cesária Évora, by Ana Sofía Fonseca, which delves into the most intimate side of the Cape Verdean singer. 🎸 ¡Llegó una de las secciones más esperadas de Ambulante: SONIDERO! Similarly, the lineup will be accompanied by workshops. On one hand, the Fantastic Creatures cycle will present those strange beings that wander between the everyday world and the imagination. At the same time, workshops dedicated to the invention and construction of Chimeras will be offered in Ciudad Juárez, Aguascalientes and Xalapa, with the participation of the Perros Fritos collective. The Box of Tales cycle takes its inspiration from Dominique Jonard, a French artist and filmmaker who used his curiosity and animation to understand the Mexico he had arrived in. In Morelia there will be a collective narrative workshop with the mediation of Noyule Jonard, head of the Dominique Jonard Archive. The exhibition will take place within the framework of the tenth anniversary of the Experimental Film Laboratory (LEC), an organization dedicated to the promotion and safeguarding of experimental and avant-garde cinema in Mexico and Latin America. On this occasion, Ambulante collaborates with LEC for the creation of a program that unites Mexican and Argentine experimental cinema. In addition, in Xalapa, Veracruz, a Live Cinema will be held, an expanded performance for three 16 mm projectors with an endless tape. The sound comes from the image passing through the optical reader and is manipulated by a sound artist. Injerto will be divided into two programs, a digital one with a duration of 66 minutes and with 16 short films projected in digital format; and a 58-minute film with 11 short films in 16mm and super-8. Pulsos Recent national short films make up this new section. Pulsos is divided into two programs, Atravesar la Fisura, with stories of lives that have faced various problems but have managed to achieve a hopeful future; and Sentir en corto: Constelar, with the support of the Mexican Institute of Cinematography through the program Fomento al Cine Mexicano (Focine), with titles that challenge the viewer by adopting an unconventional arrangement to accommodate the transformation of the gaze.
