Para presentar este programa muy especial, tendremos el privilegio de contar con la presencia de su hija, la productora Rosalie Varda. Rosalie Varda Among the activities of the program dedicated to the great Agnès Varda, the documentary Les glaneurs et la glaneuse was presented by her daughter Rosalie Varda. Inspired by Jean-François Millet’s painting, Les glaneurs et la glaneuse, Agnès Varda travels through France in search of the gleaners of the contemporary world: collectors, waste pickers and true treasure hunters. With a digital camera, the director sees herself as a collector, but of images and ideas. About the film, Rosalie Varda recalled that her mother bought her first digital video camera in the year 2000 for her summer vacation: “It was her first encounter with this device, let’s remember that my mother was born in 1928.” With the camera in hand, Agnès went to the market near her house to film, when in the end she saw a collector who ate food that he found on the ground, she approached to talk to him, “and even did some research.” Upon returning to Paris, in a nearby region, there is a potato crop where potatoes are discarded and contaminated by its collectors if they have rare shapes. “As she approached, she saw a heart-shaped one and from there the idea of making this film was born,” says Rosalie.
