Entre las nominadas en esta edición se encuentran cintas que estuvieron dentro de la programación del 21er Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM) como Last Summer, de Catherine Breillat; The Rapture, de Iris Kaltenbäck; Four Daughters, de Kaouther Ben Hania; Perfect Days, de Wim Wenders; Rapito, de Marco Bellocchio; The Animal Kingdom, de Thomas Cailley y Anatomy of a Fall, de Justine Triet, estás dos últimas películas con el mayor número de nominaciones con 12 y 11 respectivamente. Aunado a esto dos filmes que tuvieron una premier con talento presente en el FICM también están nominadas para los César Awards: Fallen Leaves, de Aki Kaurismäki, en la que participó Alma Pöysti, protagonista de la cinta y Sur I’ Adamant, de Nicolas Philibert, quien presentó su película documental en una función especial en la que además reveló su “butaca”. La ceremonia de los Premios César se llevará a cabo el 23 de febrero de 2024 en el teatro Olympia en Paris, Francia.
