Pulido, Andrés

He received a B.A. in Communication Sciences at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), in Mexico City, as well as a masters in Documentary Film at the University Center for Film Studies (CUEC-UNAM) and a graduate degree in Arts and Design at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In 2011, his short film Poniente Oriente won the Award for Best Short Film at the Festival de Cine y Video Documental Zanate; a Special Mention at the Independent Documentary Film and Video Latin American Meeting: All Voices Against; and in 2012 it was part of the Official Selection of the Festival International du Film d’Environnement (FIFE) and of the 7th Mexico City International Documentary Film Festival (DocsDF). Since 2012, he works in film archives and he is developing a project titled Solarística, a documentary about the life of a person who suffers from multiple sclerosis; since then he has presented works focused on the re-editing and re-usage of found footage such as Cementerio claro (2013) and Carta para dormir (2013). He currently works as a professor in the Arts and Design Faculty of the UNAM, in the ITESM Mexico City campus, and in the Centro de Estudios en Ciencias de la Comunicación. His short fiction film Tlalocan, paraíso del agua (2016) is part of the Official Selection of the 14th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).
