García Caballero, Alejandro

He graduated from a B.A. in Graphic Design at the Universidad del Valle de México (UVM), in Mexico City, and he is a founder of the animation studio Llamarada. His first short film Sin juicio (2010) participated at the Cusco International Short Film Festival, in Perú; the Klik! Amsterdam Animation Festival, in the Netherlands; the MUMIA: Mostra Udigrudi Mundial de Animaçao, in Brazil; and the Mostra Lisbon Animated Festival, in Portugal; among others. His second short film Las tardes de Tintico (2012), Best Animated Short Film at the 10th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), was presented in festivals such as La Habana International Film Festival, in Cuba; the Cartagena International Film Festival, in Colombia; and the San Francisco International Film Festival, in the United States; among others. In 2013 he presented Santolo at the Valdivia International Film Festival in Chile, as well as at the International Independent Film Festival (FECI) in Colombia and at the Cinemaissi Latin American Film Festival in Finland. His latest work El jardín de las delicias (2016), 14th FICM Official Selection, received a Mention from the Jury at the Americas Film Festival in New York, and it has participated at the Odense Film Festival in Denmark and at the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) in Mexico. He was part of the jury of the 9th edition of the Shorts Mexico international film festival, of the 2015 Tlanchana Film Festival, in Mexico, and of the 14th edition of the Contest for Production Support organized by the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE).
