Image Benet; Ricardo He studied Architecture at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a masters in Art History in Italy. His work as a film director has traveled in more than 60 festivals around the world, among them, three editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). He participated in the 2nd FICM with his short fiction film En cualquier lugar (2004). His first feature film Noticias lejanas (2005) premiered at the 4th FICM and received, among other awards, Best Director and Best Photography at the 20th Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG); the Jury Award at the 14th Festival de Biarritz Amérique Latine, France; the Gold Astor at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, Argentina; and three statuettes at the 48th Ariel awards, Mexico: Best Opera Prima, Best Actress for Mayahuel del Monte and Best Supporting Actress for Gina Morett.
