García; César

He studied visual arts with a specialty in film and video in the Arts Department of the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos (UAEM), Cuernavaca, Mexico. Director, screenwriter and film producer, he is the founder of the Colectivo Movimiento: Programa Independiente de Producción y Difusión Cultural, Mexico. He has worked at various festivals and cultural and film institutions, including the Ambulante Documentary Tour, Mexico, and the first and second edition of the Iberoamerican Documentary Film Festival of Memory, Mexico. He also worked as a producer in live television programs for Channel 3 of the State of Morelos and for the UAEM in Cuernavaca. He is currently a film commentator at Radio de Morelos, producer of the television program Imaginario Colectivo and is writing his next feature film Cadáver exquisito. His work has been in numerous festivals around the world, including two editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). His short fiction film Tambor (2006) was presented at the 4th FICM, in the special series “Gustavo,” a tribute to Mexican actor Gustavo Sánchez Parra. He participated with his first feature length documentary En la arena (2006) in the 12th Lleida Latin American Film Festival, Catalonia, and the 1st Acapulco International Film Festival (FICA), Guerrero, Mexico, among others. He received an Honorable Mention for Best Mexican Documentary at the 2nd International Documentary Film Festival of Mexico City (DocsDF) for his feature film La última y nos vamos (2007). He participated in the 5th FICM with his short fiction film La piedad (2007). He won the Silver Small Skull award for Best Picture the 5th Mórbid International Fantasy & Horror Film Festival, Michoacán, for his film Nahuales (2012), which also participated in the Marché du Film at the 66th Cannes Film Festival, France, and at the 12th Mexico City International Horror Film Festival (Macabro), among others.
