Image Argüelles; Alex He studied cinematography at the CUEC-UNAM film school in Mexico City. Photographer and film director, he has participated in more than 10 film screenings and festivals around the world. He won the award for Best Director at the 1st Hazficciarte Student Short Film Festival, Mexico City for his short fiction film La gran masturbación/The Great Masturbation (2008). His short film Reid (2010) was part of the Official Selection of the 13th Guanajuato International Film Festival (FICG) and of the 4th Mantarraya University Short Film Festival, Nayarit, Mexico, among others. He participated in the 8th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) with his animated short film Autorretrato/Self-portrait (2009) and with his short fiction film El cerebro/The Brain (2009). These works were also presented at the Muestra Fílmica CUEC 2009, Mexico City. His videoclip Naila (2011), of the song by Chuy Rasgado, performed by Lila Downs, was part of the Official Selection of the 17th San Diego Latino Film Festival (SDLFF), among others.
