Image Meléndez, Carlos He studied directing, editing and screenwriting at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) and took various courses and workshops with professors like Robert McKee, Dov Simens, Judith Weston and Michael Rowe, among others. He is the director of the television series Paracinema: El cine de lo anormal (2013). He received the Young Creators Grant of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) for writing the screenplay for his feature film Las orillas del infinito, currently in development. He participated in the 7th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) with his short fiction film Estrella de plata (2008), which was also presented at the Short Film Corner of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival, France. His short film Foco rojo (2011) was part of the 48 Hour Film Project 2011, where it received 13 nominations and four awards, including the Audience Award. His short fiction film El huésped (2013) was part of the Official Selection of the 12th FICM. This work has also been presented at the 9th Fright Night Film Festival, Kentucky, United States; the 3rd Baja International Film Festival (BIFF), Los Cabos; and the 13th Festival Internacional de Cine de Horror de la Ciudad de México Macabro, among others. His feature film After School (2014) won the Best Director, Best Actor and Best Picture awards at the World Film Festival 2014, United States.
