Image Jonard, Dominique Filmmaker and independent artist, he studied Fine Arts in Lyon, France. With the support of the Mexican National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA), the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE), and the MacArthur and Rockefeller Foundations, he began his work in animation with children in indigenous communities in diverse states of Mexico like Campeche and Michoacán. Among these projects the short film Desde adentro (1996) stands out, having won many awards around the world, including the First Place in Animation at the Havana Film Festival; the First Place in Animation at the San Francisco International Film Festival; and the Special Award from the jury at the 2nd Seoul International Family Film Festival. In 1998 his short film Santo golpe won the Silver Ariel for Best Animation. In 2004 he became part of the National System of Art Creators and in 2007 he received an Eréndira Award from the state of Michoacán Ministry of Culture, in recognition of his career. He has been a jury at IMCINE, FONCA and at the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema of Havana. Since 2003, many of his films have been selected at the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), including Un poquito de…/A little of… and Un perro sueño/A Dog´s Dream, in 2009; and his short film ¿Y el agua?/ And the Water?, which won the Award for Best Animated Short Film at FICM. In 2010, his film R con R won the award for Best Short Film at the Environmental Film Festival celebrated in Cancún. In 2014 his work Son nuestros bosques received an Honorable Mention at the Indigenous Film Festival, Morelia.
