García-Mejía, Pedro

He studied at the film and television workshop “Rebeldes con Cauce” at the Bogotá Town Hall, Colombia. He is currently working as a commercial director, and fiction and documentary web and television series director, at the Mexican production company Árbol Cine. His work has been presented at various festivals around the world. He received a Special Jury Mention for his short fiction film Gasolina (2008) at the 48th Cartagena International Film Festival (FICCI) and the award for Best Photography at the 6th Bogotá Short Film Festival (BOGOSHORTS), Colombia. He competed in the Official Selection of the 1st 140 Characters Film Festival, Colombia, with his short film Valor (2010). His short fiction film Niño de metal (2014) was part of the Official Selection of the 12th Morelia International Film Festival FICM) and has also participated in the Short Film Corner of the 67th Cannes Film Festival, France, and IN the 17th Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF). The short film is a link toward the development of a feature film, which he is currently working on, called La frontera sin tinieblas. This project was part of the Morelia LAB Production Workshop in the context of the 11th FICM. He is also developing a short fiction film called Grande and another feature film project Árbol, with which he participated in the Co-Production Forum at the 39th Iberoamerican Film Festival of Huelva, Spain, and in the RivieraLab, at the 2nd Riviera Maya Film Festival (RMFF), Mexico, among others. His short fiction film Big (2016) is part of the Official Selection of the 14th FICM.
