Márquez Abella, Alejandra

She studied film directing at the Center for Cinematographic Studies of Catalonia (CECC), Barcelona. Her short fiction film 5 Recuerdos (2009) was presented at more than 130 film showings and festivals around the world and won more than 20 national and international awards, including a Special Mention at the 7th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM); the Grand Prize Basque Film award and the SGAE Award for Best Screenplay at the 51st Bilbao International Festival of Documentary and Short Films – Zinebi, Spain; a Special Jury Mention at the 5th Short Shorts Film Festival Mexico (SSFFM); and Best Short Film at the 16th Lleida Latin American Film Festival, Catalonia. She is currently working in post-production of her first feature film Semana Santa.
