Castro Zimbrón, Daniel

He studied cinematography at the CCC film school in Mexico City. His work has participated in more than 10 festivals around the world, including two editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). His short fiction film Bestiario (2006) was presented at the 4th FICM and at the 19th Toulouse Latin American Film Festival, among other festivals, and won the Jury’s Special Mention at the 10th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival, Austin, Texas. His first film Táu (2013) participated in the 10th FICM, the 29th Warsaw Film Festival (WFF) and the 21st Febiofest: Prague’s International Film Festival. The project for his second feature film Las tinieblas received, among other prizes and grants, an invitation to participate in the Film in Construction section of the 26th Toulouse Latin American Film Festival on the part of Morelia LAB. It also represented Mexico at the 10th edition of L’Atelier at the 67th Cannes Film Festival. His short fiction film Negro is part of the 12th FICM's Official Selection.
