Image Martínez Bucio; Ernesto He studied communication at the Jesuit University of Guadalajara (ITESO, in Spanish) and cinematography at the CCC film school in Mexico City. He received the Young Creators Grant from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA), Mexico, during 2012-2013. His work has participated in more than 20 festivals around the world, including three editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). He presented his short fiction film Benjamín (2007) at the 6th FICM. He presented Cenizas (2011) at the 9th FICM, in addition to the 26th Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG, in Spanish) and the 33rd International Festival of New Latin American Film in Havana, among other festivals. This short film won the Best Actress award for Aitziber Garmendia at the 13th Crystal Screen Festival, Mexico City. His short fiction film La madre (2012) received the Studio 5 de Mayo Special Award at the 10th FICM; an Honorable Mention at the 8th Monterrey International Film Festival (FICMonterrey, in Spanish); an Honorable Mention at the 7th Short Shorts Film Festival Mexico (SSFFM); and the Best Actress award at the 9th Mas Sorrer International Short Film Festival, Spain. He won First Place at the film plot contest Cinescribir no hay Cine, a Universal Pictures initiative, at the 10th FICM. His short film Las razones del mundo (2015) was part of the Official Selection of the 13th FICM.
